Osasuna to Face Ipswich Town in Preseason Friendly
The English club will pay 40 million euros for the winger. Osasuna owned 50% of his rights.
Club Atlético Osasuna and Liverpool FC have agreed to transfer winger Víctor Muñoz for 40 million euros, matching his buyout clause. Osasuna owned 50% of the player’s rights, as established in an agreement last summer with his previous club, Real Madrid.
Víctor Muñoz Villanueva, born July 13, 2003, in Barcelona, joined Osasuna from Real Madrid Castilla, Real Madrid’s affiliate in the Primera Federación. In his only season as a Rojillo, he tallied seven goals and five assists. His pace and dribbling earned him two La Liga Under-23 Player of the Month honors and a call-up to Spain’s senior national team. Muñoz helped Osasuna stay in the top tier of Spanish football and secured a place at the FIFA World Cup. In just a few months, he garnered the respect and admiration of Osasuna fans for his talent, humility and commitment.
Club Atlético Osasuna thanks Muñoz for his on-field contributions and professionalism until his last day with the club, and wishes him success in his new chapter.
